Early Years
The EYFS applies to children from birth to the end of Reception and is based upon four overarching principles that shape practice in the Early Years setting:
- A Unique Child
- Positive Relationships
- Enabling Environments
- Learning Development
The Characteristics of Effective Learning support these four principles and are a key part of our Early Years Curriculum. These are grouped into three categories
- Playing and exploring
- Active Learning
- Creating and Thinking Critically
All areas of learning and development are important and inter-connected. At Osidge we have two Reception classes in our Early Years.
