Year 4’s Blue Abyss Art Workshop
On Wednesday 19th March, children in Year 4 had an Art Appreciation workshop with Frances Rustin. Frances spoke about William Beebe a marine biologist who coinvented the bathysphere, an early submarine. She also highlighted the work of Estel Bostelmmann, who used to paint underwater – what an amazing feat! Children reviewed a range of paintings and artwork related to Blue Abyss and learned about pollution in the ocean. Year 4 surprised us with their awareness of current issues and overall the session was very informative, so well done Year 4 and thank you Frances!
