Year 1’s Parent Sharing Event

This half term, our topic was Splendid Skies. As part of our parent sharing event, children had the opportunity to share their learning about different types of weather, the UK, our continents, and the Wright Brothers. Learning about the Wright Brothers reminded us of the importance of believing in ourselves and not giving up on our dreams. Because of this, we learned and performed the poem People Need People by Benjamin Zephaniah. We also worked with Oaktree School, who helped us to learn the poem using Makaton. In addition, we showed our grown-ups how to use Dienes to help with addition.
