World Book Day
We’ve had a glorious Book Week, with activities and our Wednesday dress-up day themed around Dear Dinosaur by Chae Strathie. On Monday and Tuesday, we hosted Ashmole Primary School in our halls for a shared reading experience with ‘Sprawl in the Hall’. Some classes also visited Ashmole Primary School for their own ‘Sprawl in the Hall’ sessions there – all very enjoyable and a lovely way to develop the Trust
partnership. Throughout the week, our pupils wrote pieces inspired by our shared school text, with writing ranging from creative fiction to non chronological reports linked to science and geography. Wednesday’s dress-up saw Osidge School full of dinosaurs, palaeontologists and museum curators. My friend, Rory the Dinosaur, had a lovely time visiting all the classes! Thank you to Miss Savva for organising the activities and liaising with Ashmole Primary School for the shared experiences focused on reading for pleasure.
