Poetry Week

It is Poetry Week at Osidge and there has been some great learning in classes and individually of the work of classic and modern poets. Poetry is such a great format in which children can explore language, gain the pride of learning something and the confidence to speak out loud. It also makes us think about word choices and descriptions which can be used in other creative writing we do at school. So much of younger children’s language development come from rhyming books as adults we enjoy them too! Friday’s Poetry Festival was an opportunity for the children to share together their learning and enjoy the power of poetry. My thanks for Ms Savva for arranging this event.
