London Climate Action Week
It was London Climate Action Week and the children were very busy all week thinking about ways in which we can all reduce our carbon footprint. Some of the Green Team came to speak in assembly on Monday about why this is so important and across the week children thought about ways in which they can reuse, reduce, recycle and upcycle. Every part of the school was involved from classrooms where we thought about reducing water usage and turning off lights to the canteen where the focus was on reducing waste – both from the children and the chef team. The highlight was Friday’s fashion show where there were some truly inspiring creations made from reusing and upcycling existing materials. The children also had the opportunity to hear and be inspired from a visit from Green Peace about why action from all of us is so important. We do hope that the children take time to think before demanding new ‘stuff’ and take small considered steps towards better future habits. My huge thanks to Miss Liasis, Mrs Mahir and the other staff involved with this great initiative. Please click here to view our learning collection slides.
